Who Is Elements Fitness For?
Elements Fitness is for anyone who wants to transform their body without having to do incline treadmill walking and eat chicken and broccoli for every meal. It doesn’t matter if you can deadlift 200kg or if you don’t even know what a deadlift is, as long as you’re willing to work hard and be coached then you’re welcome here.
What's The No Idiot Policy?
The No Idiot Policy states…
If you act like an idiot, think you’re better than anyone or make any other member feel even slightly uncomfortable then your membership gets cancelled immediately. This means our gym is always a friendly, enjoyable place to train.
It’s our simple way of protecting our community and making sure that Steel Habitat remains a place where anyone, regardless of their background, age, size, shape, gender etc., can train in comfort and without fear of judgement.
How Do I Get Started?
You can get started at Elements by registering for a place on one of our trials or challenges. Once you’ve filled in the registration form one of our team will be in touch to explain how things work, answer any questions you might have and arrange getting you started.

I've Heard You Do Regular Social Events, What's That About?
Every month we put on a different events for our members. This ranges from meals out and parties to things like rock climbing, go-karting and paddle boarding. This serves two purposes…
Firstly, to build a community, create friendships and deliver an enjoyable experience that stretches far beyond just sets and reps in the gym.
And secondly, to show you in practice how getting fit and strong doesn’t have to mean the end of your social life. We’re not just going to tell you that you can eat out or have a gin-in-a-tin and still get in shape, we’ll show you exactly how to do it.
What Services Do Your Offer?
We offer what we call Goal-Specific Group Training.
This is a unique approach that gives you all the benefits of personal training (as you’ll be on a training program specific to your personal goals) alongside the power of training in a motivating atmosphere with other like-minded people on the same journey as you (as you’ll be training in a group environment with the support of our expert coaches).
Do You Do Normal Classes / Circuits?
No, whilst from the outside some of what we do may look like a class everyone is actually on a training program that is specific to their personal goal. This allows us to help you reach your goals faster.
Can I Do A Trial?
Of course – before anyone becomes a full time member at Elements they have to complete a trial or challenge first. This allows you to test out the gym before deciding whether or not you want to make a longer commitment and it gives us the chance to make sure you’re a good fit for our community. You can register for a place on one of our trials via this website.
What Type Of Training Do You Do?
All of our programs centre around strength training (lifting barbells, dumbbells and kettlebells).
It’s also worth noting that nothing we do is random, every program, every exercise, every set, every rep etc. all has a specific purpose. We combine scientifically proven training principles with years of practical coaching experience to meticulously plan programs that are designed to make sure you get impressive results.
Does Everyone Do The Same Program?
No, you will be placed on a program that matches your personal goals.
Do I Get A Personal Coach?
As a Elements Fitness member you will be set up on our coaching app and assigned your own personal coach – this is the person who’ll check in with you every week, do your monthly measurements and be on hand to support you, guide you and answer any questions you might have.
You will of course be coached in the gym by a variety of our coaches – this depends on who is scheduled to coach the session you’re at.
Do You Do Cardio?
Long, slow, boring cardio is not our style. No one ever got the body of their dreams by repeatedly doing an hour on the cross-trainer. Don’t get me wrong, we work hard – we just don’t do incline treadmill walking until you die of boredom (we don’t even have treadmills).
How Do The Sessions Work?
We start each session with a group warm up, led by one of our coaches – everyone completes the warm up together. This is designed not only to physically prepare you to train but also to help you mentally relax from the stresses and strain of the day.
Once the warm-up is complete the session begins - a Elements Fitness coach will guide you step-by-step through the session making sure you’re getting everything right, working hard and making real long-lasting changes to your body.
What Is Bench Mark Week?
At the end of each 8 week training block we have Bench Mark week which is not as scary as it might sound, in fact it’s one of the best weeks at gym – the atmosphere is always amazing.
During this week we test your strength on the five main lifts – (this is mixed into your normal training sessions). If you set a new personal best you will ring the personal best bell then everyone cheers and you get to write your new score on the record board.
Bench Mark week serves a few purposes…
Our training programs all have a focus on developing strength (even the fat loss ones) so this gives you the chance to measure your progress in this area.
It also gives you something else to aim for - knowing that you’ll be getting tested every 8 weeks can serve as motivation to train hard and make improvements so you can capture that awesome feeling of hitting a new personal best.
On top of that it gives us a chance to celebrate our wins together, the atmosphere in the gym during test week with the bell ringing and people cheering is like nothing you’ll have experienced in a gym before.
Can I Follow My Own Program?
No, everything we do here is under our coaching and guidance.
Do I Need To Be Fit Already?
Everything we do is tailored to you.
It doesn’t matter if you’re super fit or have never lifted a dumbbell in your life Elements Fitness is a place where everyone can make positives changes, transform their body and have fun in the process.
We have people of all different shapes and sizes and varying levels of strength and fitness training with us. We estimate that at least 50% of our members were novice gym-goers or were returning to exercise after a long break when they started with us.
Do You Do Meal Plans?
If you’ve ever tried to follow a structured meal plan you’ll know how much of a pain they are to stick to. It always starts off well. For the first few days or maybe even a week you stick to it religiously, then you miss one of the meals or don’t get the ingredients quite right and it feels like you’ve failed and before long you’re back to eating how you where before because that meal plan “didn’t work” for you.
This is why we won’t make you follow a meal “plan” because if the plan says eat a banana and you only have an apple you feel like you’ve messed it up, when in actual fact the apple and banana could be very similar in nutritional value so eating one instead of the other will make no difference but it’ll probably have a negative effect on your mind because you feel like you didn’t stick to “the plan”.
Do You Do Nutrition Coaching?
Yes, will guide you through our flexible nutrition system - this is included in your membership.
What Memberships Do You Offer?
Following the completion of any trial or challenge we offer two main membership options – a six month commitment and a twelve month commitment.
We do not offer anything shorter so if (following your trial) you’re not able to commit to at least a 6 month membership then Elements Fitness is not for you.
Making impressive progress and positive lifestyle changes takes time, we’re committed to helping you achieve both but you have to be committed too – hence why we don’t offer short term or month to month memberships.
How Much Is It?
Membership ranges from £59-99 per month.
